Dr. Megan Staples, Xinhai “Toby” Wei, and Kaitlyn Seeto researched and developed Mathematics in Democracy for a couple of years together. Dr. Staples was the secondary mathematics professor to Toby and Kaitlyn when she brought them on to the project. Kaitlyn and Toby worked on this project while they were undergraduate students and then throughout their graduate year. Now alumni of UConn, Kaitlyn and Toby continue their journey as secondary mathematics teachers. Megan continues to work with aspiring secondary mathematics teachers in the UConn Neag School of Education.
Our Vision
Collaborative Conversation is designed to be a reflective process rather than a set up of debates. No matter the demographic of the audience, these lessons should be able to guide everyone to look within and reaffirm or refine their personal beliefs on their decision making procedure.
